ESCAPE ARTISTS or pregnant and bored??

Good lord GOD, HELD MEEEEE!!!!!!!

I think poor Daxy, Thelma, Delilah, Abbie, and Nougat are going to absolutely die of boredom if their babies aren't born soon. So far, they've destroyed their hay feeder, tried to jump out the window (hilariously unsucessful, considering the load they're carrying), and have been and probably even are now trying to break their doors down by standing on them. They think they're awesomely clever, pushing ALL their fatso, prego weight against the doors, making them creak ever so threateningly. And all I have to say at this point is....Poor doors.

New Mr. Man

Stink man no more......

Ever so sadly (wink, wink) Stink-master has gone to his other owner's house for a while, leaving us with the room we need to fit ALLLLL of our fat, moody, prego mommas!!! Which means cleaning (bleck!!), building (uggghhh), and making comfy for fat pregnant goats. Sooooo left out in our big pasture is the one, the only, little mister Jasper Blue, the new little man of the herd. The big King Kong. (There's always Max but, who am I kidding, YEAH RIGHT)
I think Jasper is enjoying knowing that the ladies are all his. I personally think he's got more pride than brains : ))

Silly and bored

I think that lately our last year babies are starting to realize that as their mothers go off to the birthing pens for four months, they get the entire pasture all to themselves. As a result of this, some start to either grow up, like responsible little adult goats, or immaturely goof off everywhere they step. But we love them anyway, we keep reminding ourselves as they continue to break and mess up things we've only recently fixed from last time......

During Aug..Sept...Oct...

During August, September, and October, all of our goaties have been becoming bigger, fluffier, and fatter, preparing themselves for the winter season. I'm not only talking about our young ones either....Our very moody mommas are also getting, well, larger (wink, wink) as well. By the time we got to November 1st, some were so huge that we decided to move them while they could still hold themselves upright.

Poor Delilah, Thelma, Nougat, Fudgie, Dax, Abbie, Sally, Janie, and Frankie are terribly mood-swingy and sensitivo, but they do love to have their pictures taken, even on their not-so-hot days...:)

Already November....

Whew, can't believe it's already November!! Us gazette gals have been really busy keeping up with all of our fluffy, excited first-year-winter babies, let alone nine pregnant moms. We have successfully moved Dax, Nougat, Delilah, Thelma, and Abbie into the two clean birthing pens that haven't been broken apart by our O so annoying Mr. Stinkman. He's been becoming a real nuisance lately, continually breaking out of his pen daily just to irritate us.
Starting about Friday (I think...) our pregnant momma goaties are due for giving birth in about two/three weeks (EEEKKK!!!) We're all really excited and hoping that this year we'll have a fair amount of both boys and girls, so not to get stuck with a massive amount of does again and not have anything to do with them. I will be posting pictures as the week goes on.

Future Mommas!!!

After long hours of deciding who and who not to keep in our herd for future breeding and showing and stuff like that, we decided that these would be the little does that we kept for future breeding:

Of course, our dynamic duo Alice and Twilight....
Our pair of petite pixies Addison and Astrid....
Without a doubt, precious princess Darby....
Our uncatchable Payton.... (who unfortunately I couldn't get a good enough picture of)

We are still debating about Bella (who is of higher breeding status - a Smiley granddaughter) and maybe Harley. We'll see!

Updates

At least he thinks he's cute!

All 3 of us gazette gals have been real busy lately and haven't had time to update our blog, but I finally remembered to go on while I was still on the computer.
So today, all us workin' farmers rounded ourselves up to go trim Selsy's feet...and let me just say BLECK!!!!!!!! We really should remember to trim more often..... All it took was a rope, a big strong guy, and a couple of quick chicks!
Other than Stink-man, the rest of the herd has missed us because we haven't had the time to play in a week or so. Everybody was glad to see us, then became bored, and thusly walked away in that goatie ADHD kind of way.

I have just today decided that I must find a goat chariot and teach Max how to pull it. I think that would be just precious!
